to answer your question, you bought THAT torpedo. you will have found out by now that you will "spend" renown on each torpedo that has a cost > zero. depending on the Mod(s) that you are using, the renown cost of a torpedo may decrease as time passes. i hope this helps. good luck, captain. ![]() mb

It is not realistic. New Equipment would be made available as soon as it would become available depending on resources. I always up my renown to around 20,000. Changing your renown is the same procedure for both SH4 and SH5. I currently have a SH5 tutorial/pictorial if you are interested.

As posted, you buy each fish you load, and the cost decreases with time and newer torpedo options...
A recently discovered semi-hack is that if I refit with Type 18 (my favorite, but costly) torpedoes at the sub tender at Mios Woendi on the return trip to Fremantle, I don't need to add torpedoes from the Fremantle stores, and my renown isn't debited... |

Using V1.5 stock.
When I stopped to get fuel at the sub tender at Mios Woendi on the way back to Fremantle, the Mk 18s were replenished during the refit. I can't swear to it, but IIRC it was before their renown cost went to zero, and my renown back at Fremantle was unchanged. |

Jimmbbo is correct. You can refit before ending your patrol to get the exact same loadout you had when you started the patrol. This also works at your home base if you refit before ending your patrol. No renown will be charged for this resupply.

Back to Midway (home port), did refit, put torps in tubes, refit again. I had my full load that I had when I left on patrol . The Clicked on end patrol.. Got my awards, etc, checked on Torps : still got last patrol's load-out. |

One thing that bit me in the loadout early in learning the game was the need to "RE-REFIT" from within the torpedoes screen...
The original refit would replenish the reserve torpedoes, but not the tubes. I had to RELOAD the torpedo tubes then refit the boat again... Is that "normal", and/or is there a workaround? |
