Haven't checked it out in many years but I though it was the neatest thing since sliced bread back then. Should still get the job done.

Pretty much all maneuvering problems can be solved using trigonometry. A quick glance through the maneuvering board manual should be evidence of that, as you will see that the solution to nearly every problem involves drawing a triangle.


It's worth noting that these same procedures can be used to figure out firing solutions for torpedoes as well.

seawolves red & blue books are handy but for me a pencil and paper to hand works just fine for speed and distance with intercepting courses
