My own dear son is autistic and he often gets the idea that he's to blame for things (often at school) which are clearly not his fault... then seeks to punish himself. And he's not looking for sympathy when he does this; all attempts to reassure him prove fruitless.

But that poor kid... to have such criminal, dumbass "neurotypicals" looking out for him
