Discuss with the wife and family John and do what is best for you and them.
On the plus side at least you have a choice and whichever option you end up choosing will bring sufficient financial security. One reason I retired as a LEO at age fifty was because I was financially secure and still in good health.....take what bonuses life offers you and make the most of it.
