If I use ESM mast at all, it's just to take a snapshot of the risk level so I have an idea how many surface ships and how close. Only a couple seconds. More than that and the risk vs gain is negated.

Excellent advice provided here. I will try to put it all to good use. I cannot seem to figure out how to win the third single-mission scenario, but I will keep trying.

Sinking the #3 replenishment ships is doable in non-modded sim at realistic difficulty.

On Elite Mode...
Just finished a convoy, mission with the Yasen, firing 8 torpedoes and 6 of 12 missiles before I saw the incoming rocket launched torpedoes coming in. I fired a moss in the direction of the enemy fleet, of 7-9 ships, did a 180 with the boat at flank speed and went deep. After a long session of evading (zig-zaging, decoy launches) until the enemy torpedoes ran out of fuel, I turned toward the convoy again and finished the remaining ships with more missiles and torpedoes. Lots of fun and luckily no damage. I didn't record it but I'll do it again hopefully and then post the video as an example of evasion.

Hi all, I am new to subsims, brought here by the skill and stories of Captain Jive Turkey. I have been playing CW for a few weeks now and one thing that I did (accidentally, I might add) was fire a MOSS 90deg to my current course, fire the missiles and then wait a few minutes until the MOSS was about 2000 yds away. I then turned and went to flank speed directly at the MOSS. I ended up with 7 weapons chasing me and as I caught the MOSS and overtook it, the weapons ignored me and concentrated on the MOSS. They would reach the MOSS and then turn away (as they do) to reacquire, and the MOSS was always between me and them. I have tried this tactic a few times since and have been able to evade every time...

Would never say this is the best tactic, but it seems to work for me even at Elite level in VERY shallow water...
