CTD - it's not just a job

That'd be as normal as normal can get in the game. I'd usually draw me a 50nm circle around the center of the star, and stay within that until it turned grey, which might be 48, 72, or 120 hours... Then go do what you want, or the other instructions given, then what you want... The game has issues when there is a lot of traffic, and it has more to keep track of. If you don't have LAA enabled on the SH4.exe, read in CapnScurvy's Windows10; Large Address Aware; SH4 Install thread about its use. Even if you don't have Win10, still very informative, and most of it applies into Vista even.

Thanks again propbeanie. I did read that bit about LAA. Will give it a try. I didn't before because the game seems to run OK on my system.
Happy hunting! |

Usually, the game will run fine on the newer computers, especially stock. But mods like FotRSU and others almost require the LAA to run smoother. Almost all, including stock, will use the LAA when encountering a lot of info to track, such as when close to ports, or with a lot of airplanes. You also get better response from TC, though I'm not saying that you'll drop out of 256x or 512x any faster and not get sunk...
