What depth was the eel set at? They should be set at 1 meter for a shallow-draft destroyer or they will circle under the target.

There is also a minimum speed requirement for the target, usually 10-12 kts.

Hello ant thank you for your answers!
I've tried everything now nothing helps ![]() I'm a little but frustrated im 1.5 KM away from 2 Destroyer (12NM/H) I fire all torpedos all torpedos miss. Set from 1 Meter to 5 Meter, from Magnetic to Non Magnetic Detonation. They start, run some meters and then turn around and run in the other direction where nonone is. Then they fail. Its the first mission in Wolfs of Steel BTW, Danzig Harbor |

I find in SH3 and SH5 that there is a bit of a glitch with the homing torpedoes. If you set them to impact and the most shallow depth they will usually run up the screws of the ship and detonate as if they were magnetically triggered.
Anyway, in SH5, the homing torpedoes are not nearly as "magical" as they are in SH3. They have a much narrower "cone of vision" in front of them to seek after, and targets have to be moving at high speed or they won't track at all. If you don't have real nav installed then you should be able to see your torpedoes on the map screen. When they are tracking they "wiggle" as they go. Steve |
