CBA
ACE
RHS (AFRF + USAF)
TFAR or ACRE
TRYK

^
These are what I personally consider 'essentials', though RHS is debatable.
Without them, I wouldn't even touch Arma.

This is my current list:

I am too lazy to write them all down, but if you google the abbreviations, you'll find out the exact mod.
All but '@gc' are available, that one is my units private mod with some fixes, extra gear and uniforms etc.

For UK Forces, as others mentioned, CUP should be what you're looking for.

I grabbed all the CUB stuff, plus about a million other things. Still need to get a Chally mod (hopefully a scimitar too) but I think I'm about up to where I wanted to be. Could do with some decent boats as well, come to think of it. Rolling in stuff now. There was a brilliant mod for Arma2 - tier1 operators or something, but can't seem to find it for Arma3 which is a shame. Still, the new method of configuring load outs (which is excellent) should allow me to cook up some pretty cool stuff.

My mod folder is going to be about 300 gig by the end of this. Just need to start dusting off my scripting skills again....not looking forward to that bit!

Thanks everyone - Lot of great advice. Nice to see StalkerGB is still doing his Brit forces stuff. They were great in Arma2.

One more question - does everyone just use Steam workshop nowadays or is it still worth checking out Armaholics?

Other way around.

The workshop can be buggy and cause a lot of problems, also it updates stuff automatically, which can be a problem when playing in groups.
Armaholic is still the way to go. They had severe problems with their servers for a while, but it is alright now.

Fetch Arma3Sync to manage your mods and you got all you need, in my opinion.

That's a bit of a shame. Steam Workshop is something I really, really like. Never mind. Amarholics is a great resource. I don't play multiplayer anyway so I'm no too worried.

Cheers.

Lol, I've just rediscovered how more-ish Arma mods are, especially with the new armoury thing and customizable gear. It's eaten a huge swathe of space on my SSD. Might have to reinstall it on my other drive before I run out of room.
