Looks like it.

I'd do what HW3 suggests.

Oops. Sorry bout that. Thats just my mind being scattered, I guess.

As for checking under sound, I checked and, while there seems to be no settings for headphones or related devices, I set everything to stero so it can use all channels. This is really stumping me.

Maybe it actually is just blocked by some dust and I'm just unable to comprehend how to get it out.

I had this problem quite some time ago. I had to disable all the RealTek stuff and the Monitor sound. Then with only 'Speakers' enabled, the headphones cancelled the speakers and worked fine.

Assuming you didn't change any settings since earlier that day.

Your headphones plug may be damaged - a propper contact may be impossible. Connect a different plug and see if the speakers go silent.

I'm also betting on headphones.
Borrow one from a friend for 5min and just plug them in.
I have to buy new ones almost twice a year since the cable gets bent.

Wasn't it. Tried three pairs.

Whatever the problem is, I finally found a workaround, just slowly putting the headphones in halfway, playing the video, then plugging them un the rest of the way.

Thank you all for your suggestions though! IIt's a great welcome back to Subsim.
