Has she been tested for possible Asperger's Syndrome? She has quite a few of the symptoms and the condition may account for her anxiety attacks and her other situations. Asperger's is not a disability, but, rather a condition that allows for high-functioning life and may include a significant tendency towards high intelligence and achievement, though it can affect social interaction and assimilation. It may be something to look into and explore...

I hope your niece has continued progress in the easing of her symptoms and difficulties and I wish her all the best. At least she has a good uncle looking out for her...
