After a month of searching I finally learned about VirtualBox. It downloads and installs easily. The only problem was that while the installation instructions are easy to follow, the ones for installing XP or another program are not.
After a few more days of searching I found . There are many available but this is the one I was able to understand and follow. Big Gun, the ballistics and penetration calculator, is now up and running on my computer! ![]()

Other then messing around with the compatibility settings in windows, there is little that can be done, short of dual booting, or running some sort of emulation environment. Emulated environments may not work for all programs though.
Your best bet is to figure out which OS this program was originally written for, as that can help you figure out what steps you will need to take next. Also telling us the exact name of the program (and version number) too might help. As some of us may be able to dig up the newer version, even if the sight is offline |

Thanks for the offer, but as I said in my last post, the problem is solved.
