![]() Do you mean that you can't see the torp wake, or that the Japanese cannot see the wake? |

I just finished my first patrol and went home with over 93,000+ tons racked up...All of my targets( Nippon maru's,kiturns.and Hori maru's gave no indication of hearing or seeing anything...The torpedo running depth was 15-20 ft,range to targets 1800-2850 yards speed setting was high speed..If you go under water and follow the torpedo you will see a faint stream of bubbles, but no trace on the surface...Now you little slant eyed rice propelled jerks...Eat torpedoes...

In tmo 2.5 sound folder I took out the (torp tga) 256 kb...I have also done more testing..In bad weather at 18 ft depth and high speed the targets only react when the 1st torpedo hits..In calm weather at 10+ ft depth they seem to react the same at high speed but on low speed they just travel on...At least those that can..

I've found that attacking from 45º in front of the track (torpedo track angle (TTA) of 45º) as in a John P Cromwell attack, if the weather is calm during the daytime, targets see Mark 14s just about all the time and successfully avoid.
Of course you can anticipate that and shoot multiples to cover their avoidance path, but why would you when picking a different attack would mean you don't have to waste torpedoes?

One of the tricks I use is move in front of a convoy and as they pass over me I pop up and empty bow and stern tubes.
