I have since learned, by observation, that the gates open and close and that there are signals which indicate there activity. There is a chart in your sub which explains the signals, but it is in German only, in LSH2015. Don't know if they are available in other mods.

Thanks for the info! I was looking at some mods the other day and one caught my eye, something to do with realistic depth charges and capacities on the escorts. Something I have wanted to have fixed for a long time, but you need the Ccom mod. Guess I won't be having that as I cannot read German fluently.
