He probably learned the most important parts taught now in history, like the USA is evil, and capitalism is bad.

No he didn't say any of that he just didn't know much. He plans on joining the military so obviously if he where taught that the US was evil he either doesn't believe it or has a rebellious personality.

What school are your young relatives going to? Berkeley?
