I must say that Kapitan's new avatar is quite to my liking. Bravo!

Cornwallis, no one is editing your posts. You are now an ensign. It will change again soon. Possibly very soon.

Actually I prefer the Bangkok picture it reminds me of Twisted Sister!Plus it looks completely unlike any of the lady boys you see in the Thai capital.$5 love you long time$5....................

I did donate some $$$$$$$$$$ for a subsim super cd a while back perhaps a little credit could be given?

Does anybody remember the song called Spam Glorious Spam?
I appreciate that you have a non-virtual life as well, but these were four seperate postings were made within ten minutes and they taste like Spam.

And these:

Your local moderator who has done the editing is a man called Abraham.
As for the picture, file your complains with a Texan called Neal Stevens (and may God have mercy with your soul...)

@ Takeda Shingen:
I've been editing Cornwallis postings under the new anti-Spam tactics!

How the ranking system "works":

Moderator rules:

Subsim Forum moderator guidelines

A Subsim forum Moderator is a volunteer position, it is not meant as a rigorous activity. Check the forum occasionally. Daily is prefrerred but usually Subsim forums are pretty civil so a few times a week will suffice.

Subsim forum moderators should use a light touch. We prefer our mods to let things run without excessive editing, warning, and thread moving. Let people have their say. The only topics that are forbidden are software piracy, severe and repeated hate speech, and personal attacks. No intense, repeated name-calling allowed (idiot! moron!) etc. If a poster seems to be crossing the line, it may be a good idea to see if the topic dies out (it does not get follow up posts and sinks) for a day first. If the violation gets a lot of follow-ups and is turning into a major problem, then step in.

Always try to give a nice warning first.
Censor (by using the edit) any bad content, leave your inititials and an explanation.
If a thread is really out of control, make the last post and explain you are locking it (this only happens once in a while).
Try not to delete posts.
For members who are out of control, refer them to Neal Stevens in a Private Message.

Overall Forum rules

Yes, if any posts are edited or locked by moderator, he is supposed to initial the changes.

Abraham, thank you for reminding me of some of my posts. You have seen fit to post this on a topic where i have not recently questioned your moderating abilities and closed another before I could make another post !In fact you have not really defended yourself in regard to any of my comments.
In my posts there are a number of items that are not spam.Have you ever been on Rum Ration and looked at the avatar system?I think not -and by the way it is a Royal Navy rumour network!
Many of my posts have been about the avatars awarded to me and how the system works.I thought it was a legitimate topic as the boards revolve around it.
If you want Spam just look at the 40+ pages of the cat topic. You should have killed that straight away!Yet it is a monument to spam that YOU have condoned. You must reap what you have sown.
You have upset a lot of people.Get a grip of the moderating and take my suggestions on board re getting rid of the childish avatar promotion system.Do not close topics just because you are not winning.Perhaps you could pass these suggestions on to the Onkel.

This was composed whilst the Onkel was posting the above.I wholeheartedly agree with his comments!

Yes, the "cat" thread has been a long tolerated spam-only thread.

Yes, we moderators should leave topics unmolested, if possible, and initial any changes. Me included (I usually do, sometimes I get sloppy).

We would like to keep the spam down but not at the cost of having a good time, of course.

The avatar system, well, it's too much fun to change. Plus, I'm still paying royalties to Dr. Emil Steppehoff and associates for putting it together. (See aforementioned avatar explanation).

Let's get back to having fun and mischief

That's funny, I always thought the board was mainly for discussions, with the avatars merely being some decoration on the side of the screen. Oh well, different interpretations of reality I guess...
