Are you sure that your nice is not miss understanding a joke of some kind? You say that she is a Mensa aka "gifted" has a higher than average IQ. Sometimes these type children and even into adulthood can be a bit aloof. Usually these kids do not spend the full day with the other students partly because they can find the regular course and partly because some can be a bit aloof and interact awkwardly with others. A good friend from was like that high IQ a bit aloof of course as he matured he became less so.

Just a suggestion it might be some sort of joke or a way to get attention.

I think you mean to say "shocked" not "chocked" unless you are a parked aircraft then you would want your wheels chocked.

Most likely a typo that you missed.
