Its called amb_SubmarineInterior....
But this is the file that plays in the background all the time...men sniffling and coughing and papers shuffling etc.

Open the file with your media player and see if it is the one, if not search the other files there until you find the one that you do not want.

I think you were right after all ! I've deleted all amb_SubmarineInterior files from the mod and instead copied the one from stock sh3 into it which did the job ! The sounds I disliked must have been somewhere hidden in the three amb_SubmarineInterior files of the thomsen's sound pack V3.2

Wow, I was working on this exact same thing, the constant talking drives me nuts, especially when I'm silent running. I haven't played in months because I just got tired of hearing those guys all the time. I think the file amb_SubmarineInterior has most of the talking in the left channel only. So I'm going to delete the left side channel and just copy the right channel into the left.
