Some of the mid 60's models would start if you towed them up to speed.
I remember doing that with my Dad when I was just off the tit.


Was a Cold winter day and I remember that as the earliest time doing Car stuff with my Dad.

As I recall, the automatic transmission had to have a rear pump in order to bump start it. My 1959 Pontiac did NOT. I never got the chance with the '64 Pontiac as I wrote it off before the battery needed changing. (10 days old)

I called Dad.
It was a '59 Fury we had that day.

He said up to '64 or '65 you could tow an automatic fast enuf to start.
That depended on the transmission.
