Still haven't seen it yet, but I think Skybird wrote something about it. Ah, here it is: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=203362, includes a link to an extensive article.

Jeez thats like LOTR Return Of The King Extended Edition status. Hell of a thing to watch in one go.

I have all three LOTR Extended Editions. I usually watch them one-half at a time. Still, that's no worse than the 'Uncut Version' of Das Boot, at 4 hours 52 minutes.

Well, technically Das Boot was a miniseries, so not meant to be watched in one go.

Im surprised, though, i didnt take you for being a LOTR kind of guy.

I read the books in college in 1968. I've read them twice since, once in 1978 and again right after seeing the movies. I've read everything by Tolkien at least once, and his buddy Robert Graves too.
