Is this piracy or a legitimate promotion?

The games site offering it looks legit. Let me test it

Update: No Idea what it says in German, but the key seems to work on a spare u-play account. Donno if it counts as piracy though.

At this juncture it is piracy I would say. SH5 is still sold at Amazon and the like .

Thank you breadturbo. Neal Stevens, owner of Subsim, can take a look and make a decision. I suspect the link will be seen as piracy. Thanks for editing the post!

I found SH5 for like $3 bucks on amazon when I bought it, so it's practically free. I think they pay you to play it.

And welcome aboard (as per Kranz also) formally: BREADTURBO! Against a '$3.00 Amazon price' and at .15 cents actual buying power on the dollar: Damages are aboot '.45 cents'; but the lesson that "if something looks too good to be true" (in combo with) "TRUST NO ONE IT SAVES ENERGY" against a PIRACY beef...priceless lifetime WISDOM garnered in the thread Sargasso often keeps das boot... DAS BOOT!

Apparently there is a link to a German game mag site spread in the internet which leads to a page where you can create a serial for SH5.

The site explicitely states to click on the picture to create a serial number for the Gamestar full version. After generating the serial it states again it's for the Gamestar version (3/12) - a DVD copy of SH5 was included in this issue.

So if you are not the owner of the physical copy of said Gamestar DVD, you are not entitled to use the serial. Looks like the link has only been set up for this specific copy of the game: to enable the magazine buyer to get their serial. On Gamestar's main page there is no link to the serial site or a statement about giving out promo copies of Sh5.
