Ok reinstallation fixed the problem

(the crashes might have been caused by remaining mod files)

I have found that to be the best option. I have had problems in the past with rolling back all the JSGME mods, deleting the data file, and using a saved plain data file updated to 1.4b. A complete reinstall is always the best way to do it.

I try not to think about how many dozens of times I've reinstalled SH3 over the past eight-and-a-half years.
