Captains log causes crash

I can hit captains log and it works fine.

After I sink a DD:
If I hit captains log the game freezes. Also, if I save after I sink a Polish DD and later try to load that game, the game just freezes with a black screen and doesn't finish loading.

This is the second problem I have had. I cannot use the Trevally Tutorials: when I mouse over them I cannot select them and an error "Corrupt Automation File" displays.

Also, I have the steam version so I can't use the patcher.

Hi! I've had the same issue in the first mission with sober's mod list. I tried disabling various combinations of the mods and patching with TDW's patcher. Nothing worked.

However, what I've noticed is that I was always heading to the patrol area at flank speed (it's close, no fuel worries) which meant that I made contact with the two polish dds before hostilities officially began. I sunk the ships on 31/08, but war started on 01/09.

So, I tried getting there with a slower speed, making contact with the dds after midnight, so 01/09. After sinking the ships I could see the captain's log just fine, with the mission's primary objective complete, and after saving the game it loaded fine.
