It could also be that "SEAL team 6" is the only recognizable designation the press knows about. I would not be surprised that pretty much everything the SEALs do is attributed to "SEAL team 6".
Which is interesting, especially since SEAL team 6 has not existed since 1987, but what does the press know.  I think the other SEAL teams prefer "SEAL team 6" get all the publicity.
