CIA acknowledges secret 'Area 51'

Sure, it started out as the test facility for the U-2 but, has continued to grow long after the plane was retired from service. Skunkworks for Stealth planes etc, etc. Whether or not they are reverse engineering an alien craft there is still high speculation and a question that may never see an answer.

The plane though highly modified is still in service.

After looking at it on Google Earth for years....they finally tell me it's real.

I stand corrected. It's only natural though. After all the money they poured into its development and initial deployment and the Groom Lake facility where it was tested. High five for the designers and builders of the day. Nothing is built to last this long anymore. Plus it took a near space shot to bring one down.

Not an easy feat in and of itself. Props to the Soviets on their aim.

What is sad is the CIA had to lay off the employee who was keeping Area 51 a secret for so log:

"This is not the alien warehouse you are looking for..."
