Very comprehensive article on the conflict in Air & Space Smithsonian many years ago.

These guys were not fooling around. Both sides were in deadly earnest; it was an issue of national pride for both sides.

It never ceases to amaze me how the fog of war, and "as fate would have it", affects the most elegant plans of batle. The "if but for" circumstances in the Falkland War - and it was a war - are breathtaking (for both sides).
