Yeah, I've thought about the locks issue. The seller was an older lady with no children who lived alone and has moved out of state but... you never know. I got no idea how to do the thing with the garage door but my brother-in-law probably does.
Man, I got some things done today but not as much as I wanted. Okay, I got a lot done but not the things I thought I was gonna get done. I did get my stereo moved over there and hooked up... only had a small bit of speaker wire from one speaker since the other speaker's wire was wound all the way around the room behind furniture so I just disconnected the speaker and took that. But since I was only setting it up in the kitchen on a makeshift shelf on top of an upturned box, with the speakers sitting right next to it on either side, I was able to cut the one speaker's wire in half and use it for both of them. Now at least I can have some "company" while I'm in there by myself. Spent way too much of the day running around, getting some extra cleaning supplies and looking at stuff I might need in the future. But I did get most of the carpet vacuumed and cleaned the carpet in the den... by the time I finished that it was 7 PM and I just didn't have the energy to haul the machine upstairs to do the bedrooms. But at least the den is done and I'll be able to start setting up office stuff in there in a few days, maybe this weekend. Really good news for me is that I went back to look at the corner computer desk I wanted to make sure it would work with my monitor and it should do fine. ![]() You know you're a geek when your first concern on moving into a new place is where to put the computer and how soon you can get everything ready to set it up. And I won't even be moving it until I start staying over in the place every night - actually LIVING there - but I can't really do that until the computer is there too, so... lol I guess you know you're *really* a geek when the idea of sleeping on a mattress on the floor and dressing out of a box because you don't have bedroom furniture is not a problem, but you can't possibly think of moving in until you have a proper desk to put your computer on. ![]() Anyhoo... I'm SO tired. But it's a good tired! Oh and here's the desk I want: and the lateral file cabinet I got today: ![]() and the printer/tech station: |

Very nice Frau.
![]() The "I'm gonna pull my hair out" stage is complete. Now it's on to the heavy lifting. Your garage door opener should have what's called a dip switch in the motor housing and the remote. This is merely a discrete component with a row of numbered switches. resetting these to a matching configuration should be a piece of cake. the only tools you may require will be a step ladder and a screwdriver. Slow and steady wins the race So, you have at least a month to get out of the apartment. Take your time. Uh oh, here comes the fatherly advice... Never leave your garage door opener in the car while it's parked in the driveway. I'm guessing that there is a portal in the garage that leads into the abode? If a burgurgaler is familiar with your ninja skills you won't be bothered. If not, the burgurgaler will rue the day. ![]() ![]() Moving in Skyrim can be a real pain without the bottomless back pack mod.

Congratulations, Frau. Welcome to the homeowners club.
We need pictures.

I'm the same. I've been in this apartment almost two years. The first several months were spent on a air mattress, because I couldn't justify bying a bed when there were other things to save up for. My beloved modelbuilding was shoved aside because the building table had to be a computer desk for months. Now I can do both, but the computer seems to always come first.
