I hope you have a lot of will power once you get going with Steam, because when they have their sales, you're going to need it!!! Just ask Hunter,Raptor and Oberon what that is like when you notice a new Steam sale,LOL

Ha...that's fast

I'm usually looking at a 10 - 12 hour download time if it's a big title.
but that doesn't stop me from grabbing it on sales

I agree Hunter, 10 to 12 hours for a big game download, easy! And Steam just got me for $19.95 again! I wonder if there is a 12 step program for Steam addicts? Maybe we could get one started here at Subsim!

Welcome Hunter to Steamaholics Anonymous. My name is Eddie and I'm a Steamaholic. Admitting you have a problem is the first step on the road to recovery. Now, all we have to do is get rid of our internet account, tear up the credit card, and close the Paypal account. Easy isn't it!?!LOL

WEE took 4 hrs, i think i read you can log off steam and when you log on again downloads will restart automatically so the long ones maybe are not too much of a problem, I'd like to think i can resist temptation, this game looks pretty good and will have some mileage in it, I'm going to have to read the manual though, also I'm not into shooters or rpg Im more into simulation/strategy and I think there isnt quite so many titles in this genre to tempt me.

Anybody excited for Wargame Airland Battle like I am??

Steam sales get me all the time too..

A few weeks back I was just on steam getting ready to plop on Civ 5 and play and I was like,
"Im not spending any more money this paycheck I want to save it"

then on the front page I notice Steam yelling at me,

"HEY! HEY! HEY! Arma 2 Complete Edition and Far Cry 3 BOTH on sale for $20!"

Needless to say, I cut 40$ into my bank account that day.

Yes WAB looks pretty good, the vids and screenshots are impressive, I wont rush out and get it I'll exhaust WEE first and hopefully pick it up at a bargain price sometime later.I have noticed that using auto settings in WEE has set my gfx to low, still looks pretty good though, I might up them to medium and see how it plays.

Steam is pretty freakin' awesome, and Valve does all this stuff the right way. They're kind of like Google before Google became as cool as Google is today.

First of all you don't always have to be online, you can tell Steam to remain offline and generally play all of your games just fine that remain offline. Sometimes this doesn't work, and is the only thing I've ever had to troubleshoot with Steam.

You can download to as many computers as you use, there is a code system, but I don't remember exactly how it works as I've only had to use it once in nearly a decade. I remember it being pretty simple and easy.

You can burn your games to discs, you just go to the properties in your game tab, and bam! There's the option. Now you have a physical copy of the game, and it's yours!

Steam has the most amazing sales, and you never have to leave your house. And we're not talking 5% off at Best Buy, and they tell you how wondeful a deal that is on a $60 game. We're talking $30 games for $5, and $60 games for $40 or $30. It can get pretty nuts! Keep an eye on your wallet!
