I have 3 careers going presently and all of them take up 5mb! So not much.

That's good to know. I won't worry about it now.

It really depends on how many saves you make, and how many patrols you made. The data per save starts small, but at the end of the patrol mine usually are more than a megabyte per save.

Of course your mileage may vary with mods or not. Mine is GWX3

Precisely...saves tend to be exponential.

I got plenty of room, not worried about that one myself. However, i tend to be a bit of a neat freak sometimes, and just wanted my save screen to look, not so cluttered.

You can delete anything prior to your last save with no effect on the game as long as you keep the file called 'career.cfg' (it's the only file in your savegames folder with a unique name). It's that file that keeps track of all of your patrols - open it up with notepad and it'll give you all the information you need. I believe it's also this file that SH3 Cmmander reads for the realistic ship information.

I run over 15 careers to help me with testing new mods (two for each year plus a few 'play' careers) and when I want to clean up I keep the last three savegames and delete the rest.

I recommend you back up before messing with the careers folder... just in case!

I will have to give that a go, as I have a good backup. Thanks WB!
