Do you think SHO could be a test to check if there is enough interest in SubSims, and may lead to a "proper" Silent Hunter in the future?
So far Im really underwhelmed by SHO...I mean its a nice "Submarine Game", but no "Sumbarine Sim". |

No, it's just Ubi jumping the series into the ftp arena. If they couldn't finish 5 I can't see them sticking another SH game on disc.

What about DLCs? Dont publishers LOVE DLCs? 30 Euro for an IX or something like that?
![]() Nothing new by the way. Remember the old Microsoft Flight Simulator with its 3rd-Party-Planes? They went for the same prize in some instances. |

Ubisoft is successful with the "Settlers-Online" F2P browser game. Ubisoft stated that approx. 2 million users worldwide are playing Settlers-Online, and 5-7% of them are paying users (buying items from the ingame shop for real money). According to Ubisoft CEO this 5-7% are enough to gain provit from the game, because the development- and maintenance costs are many times lower as for a conventional game.

How many people would pay 30 euros for a type IX? 10? 100? 1000? I doubt it.

I'm willing to pay for new airplanes in Rise Of Flight. I don't like the idea of SHO, but if a complete Type II or Type IX could be had in SH5, I'd consider 30 Euros, or even 50, to be a bargain.

Absolutely serious.
I may also be absolutely alone in that. No, never for an online browser game, but to get a serious sim done right? Sure.

I would to. Rise of Flight is a good example. The game and the whole concept behind it just works.
Sure 30-50 Euro are much more than the 10 you pay for a new plane, but hey you would get a complete interior with it. |

Seconded. I'm rather a fan of the Railworks / Train Simulator series and they operate a similar model (and have received a little flak for it), but it's not the same as free-to-play online games with microtransactions.
