I would like to know also! Didn't know that this can happen with IRAI. Hardly realistic having over 50 warships hunting down one submarine, no matter what this submarine sunk, let alone in 1940... But yes, how do you escape without turning IRAI off?

Almost lay down on bottom sea or as deep as possible, all stopped, and wait ...they leave after 30 mn
If they drop right on top, move a bit to avoid the charges.
It worked twice for me so far, with stock latest IRAI.
Took some damages though, but survived.

I don't think it's very realistic in my opinion, furthermore at the war begining.
I added the TDW Depth Charge Water Disturbances, but result was the same and DD always knew where i was...

That works. And... if they're just about overhead, go to extreme speed and make a hard 90° turn. Then shutdown your engines and coast. That should put you out of harms way for a bit. The deeper you are the better off you'll be. Good luck.
