If you have some spare time check out Pete's guide http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=182356

I'd always go above your required amount, but you really need to make sure that your 12v rail(s) is (or are) up to what you'll need Amp-wise. Factor in any further drives etc. that you may include later.

Read that linked thread, it's very informative.

Yeah 430 should be more than enough, heres specification for cx430

+3.3v 20A
+5v 20A
+12v 28A
-12v 0.8A
+5vsb
3A

28 amps is more than enough for whole system and 8800 gtx.

What do you think about LC Power 600w office series PSU?
it has 2 years warranty.

but it has 2x 12v rails(12v1.12v2)

3,3V -24A,
5V -24A,
12V1 - 18A
12V2 - 18A

will it work with 8800 gtx?

also it has 2x 6pin connectors

corsair 430w has only 1 so i will need to use adapter for second one.

I know LC power is way cheaper but will it work?

A quick search pulled up a lot about LC Power, and none of it good. A reputation for mis-labelling (i.e. saying it has 18A when it is only 15A, labelled as 650W when it's really 400W).

It's entirely up to you, but I wouldn't give them my money, I'd give it to someone a bit more reputable.

Just to reiterate from elsewhere - cheap PSUs are not good, they can do unseen (for a while) damage to many other components. So if a Hard Drive goes, you'll blame the Drive. If the GPU goes, you'll blame that. All the while the likely culprit could be the PSU.

Yes, yes, yes. Couldn't agree more mate.

@toni, Pay close attention to what H-B says. I know you're eager mate but it's better to save that extra couple of weeks and get quality kit. Remember you get what you pay for in this world

Best regards.

Listen to the advice about PSUs, wait till you can afford a Corsair or Seasonic 430w or 500w, should be enough for you and around £40. Top quality products
