Your system should run it just fine without a CTD, but 2.1 seems a bit underpowered. I'm running an i5 2.81 quadcore with 4GB of DDR3 matched RAM, and a Zotac 8800GT 1GB graphics card. No CTDs here. Going to upgrade to an i7 soon for more power, along with a newr graphics card..... as soon as I can afford them.

There is a 4 GB patch that will up your memory useage to 3.7. Get that and see what happens. Know too that XP will never use more than 4GB of RAM. The only way you can is with Windows 7, and I believe that will let you used up to 16GB.

What size power supply do you have? A 750watt is about the lowest size to use with the hardware you have. 2 graphics cards could be the drain on yours making the SH5 crash.

Also your processor cooling might cause it. I've been running a Corsair H-50 water cooling setup, and it works a lot better than just a fan.

And make sure you keep the inside of you case and hardware clean. Dust and all that other crud getting sucked in will cause problems too.... even major problems more sooner than later.

Man your config is really good, water cooling wow, its still like something scary to me ,you know water and electricity in the same place, but i heard it is very efficient if applied right..

And good luck with the future upgrades..

I have a FSP Epsilon 80plus 700W and if this is the cause of restart, i will go and cry, as i have played Need for speed, Crysis and Prototype in this
machine with zero problem. Also stock SH5 do not crash on convoys so i still bet on hydrophone mod failure in some way.

If problem is not solved I will upgrade to win7 and try SH5 and mods again on it, instead of running 4gig patch on XP, it will be a more definitive solution i guess, because i have 3 gb sys ram and 2 gb video ram, if that doesnt do it nothing will :-)

Please anybody comment on a mod solution..

Windoze xp = 2gigs memory = not enough memory for mods .
Windoze 7 64 bit = 4 gigs used by the game - graphics card - operating system = just enough memory with all the mods .

I have an issue where my PC would reboot with crash when running games.
It turned out it was a fault with my graphics card. Switched with a new one and all worked after that.
Your reboot crash sound like something wrong with your PC.

Have you added anything new lately

im running things on Win7 Ultimate 64bit with 4gb Ram and intel Core 2 Duo@3.2 Ghz, GTX460 and I have no promblems whatsoever with anything. Got BitDfender TS2013 running in the background, Steam, Uplay and a couple of other programs so I don't see how what you specified is just enough to run SH5...

It's windoze. It breaks things.

sorry guys i am taken away by installing and updating win7 ultimate x86 and just to play this game, at last hopefully.

Thanks wrathinator, I understand mods can take most of the ram and may cause sys restart, will see if win 7 will do any good??

Trevally no new additions but xp installed nearly 2 years ago so might be many junks in there. This is past tense as no more XP now :-)

If sys resources are the problem, not much i can do until next computer upgrade (which will be a collosal one you bet:-) with 16gb ram with x64 sys) three reasons may be the problem: 1. ram is going out thus restart 2. crossfired cards tyring to suck to much electricity thus restart 3. mod compatibility with crossfired cards(not sure if there is such a thing??)

Thanks again for your concern, i will update status.

Duner, water cooling H-50 is a sealed unit. No problems at all with it.... except for dust collecting in the radiator. Computer is a lot quieter too.

Next time build your own computer. Don't buy one from a store or online. Unless you're like some of us here and only build your own.

Maybe i will use water to extinguish the fire next time :-) i normally build my own configs but you know it is difficult to follow up all fast developments in technology and to analyse how every part will act with another to avoid system choke points. But i will build a monster one next time, thats for sure :-)

Now installing mods over SH5 on brand new win7 ultimate sys, i will advise results when i find a convoy in the game..
