Had a terror mission go very bad. Lost my whole squad to the spider-looking aliens and "zombies".
Yay, lost most of my experienced troops. ![]() Researched carapace armor afterwards. They are somewhat more protected now compared to the standard armor. Until I met Mutons. ![]() ![]() |

Spoiler alert: the final boss can control your troops minds. That's a bad thing when you have psionic flying plasma rifle toting supersoldiers.

Don't rush it anymore than other missions. I do what I can on those, but really getting my guys through that is more important.
But it certainly can go south in a heartbeat... ![]() It's a miracle I only lost half the team on op. Stone Law. Moved everyone to cover from deployment, 2 thin man come into view on their turn and the reaction shots failed to kill anything. Before I could do anything substantial, I was in contact with every bloody enemy on the map at once, including a Cyberdisc. Not a good day. ![]()

It's the smaller maps that really hurt. Barely make a move before making contact, and after that patrols start wandering into the fight. Run out of ammo halfway through and yer toast.

Nah, some of the smaller maps are definitely death traps, but it's the larger landed/crashed UFO maps that are the real problem. You try to take your time fighting some Sectoids and suddenly your flanks are filled with Mutons and Floaters...

Impossible. No X-COM soldier could ever possibly hit a target at that range...
