Mystic Seaport has a couple of whaling-related exhibits, but Nantucket and New Bedford both have their own whaling museums. I'll be visiting the New Bedford museum for the first time sometime next September. It also houses the Lagoda, a half-scale replica of a New Bedford whaler that's also the largest model ship in the world.



It's like the world's biggest lawn galleon!

I haven't been to the Nantucket museum, but from what I've seen, it doesn't look half as nice as the one in New Bedford. But don't listen to me until I've actually been to both places!
