Russian attack submarine sailed in Gulf of Mexico undetected for weeks

Surley this didn't really happen. We have the best Navy in the world.

Surely this is just a poker game move to put one up on the US.

I say claim the Gulf of Mexico giving Mexico patrol planes for subs (Russian or druggie subs)
and reinstate sous (which I heard was abandoned years ago) and while we are at it claim
the entire Gulf of Alaska as off limits to subs.

The stealthy nuclear –powered sub, armed with cruise missiles quietly traversed U.S. waters for weeks highlighting a potential flaw in America’s security.
