Breathing is not the problem on Mars, its the lack of pressure. Air tanks are not that difficult to carry around and work with, but the problem is we need bulky pressure suits. The current generation of space suits are very cumbersome to use.
The pressure at the surface of Mars is equal to 50,000 feet above sea level here on Earth. Plus there is a lot more radiation on the surface. |
