Old Stuff Below, kept for archival value only.

I was thinking about doing a recorded playthrough, posted to youtube. Something in the vein of a lets play, but I'm going to assume that you're familiar with the basic game.

TMO, other mods maybe, full Switch diff, iron man style (dead is dead permanently), and just seeing how long I survive.

I'd be cutting the boring staring at the map parts and such, and only reloading the game after a quit/crash/major bug.

I could be wrong, but to the best of my knowledge this has never been done, at least not like this. Certainly not a common idea anyways, afiak.

ATM, I'm just gauging if there's any interest, so speak up if you think you'd watch. I'll also leave boat selection up to you guys, so I'd just take whatever's most voted for. Most def want it to be an asiatic fleet game from the start of the war though. Been a while since I played, but if it's still in there, it'll probably be a division 2 (special ops heavy) game. I'll probably start it next week if people are interested.

I'd watch, and I would vote for a Sargo class out of Cavite, Philippines.

Absolutely! I enjoy watching the "let's plays". It would be nice to see a new twist to the old game

Be fun, load up RSRD and get a S boat and I'll give you coords to several early large TF, try taking on the IJN fleet that heads out into the Indian Ocean with an S-boat....fun stuff.

Just finished watching the video, good show. I enjoyed see a different way to set up a shot and finishing a crippled ship. Looking forward to next video!

Just a small note here. I've got the bulk of patrol 2 done I quit before it was fully finished because I was tired. Lotsa action this time and it's got a cliffhanger! Anyways, I've got video encoding/resizing/etc right now. I'll probably start uploading late sunday morning (gmt-7). Expecting it to be live about late sunday evening or early monday morning.

Edit: As always, the assumed cavaet is: so long as nothing goes wrong.

It seems I lied, but in a good way. The vids are uploading now. I'll make them available sometime tonight baring unforseen complications. Of course, I find out after I split the vid that youtube has removed the 15 minute time limit and that this feature has been enabled on my account... Whatever...

The new vids are live. About an hours worth of footage. Some highlights:

A Couple of lone merchants
A Few aircraft
A Photo Recon Op
A large Convoy spotted

The next vids will be me attacking the convoy.

Of note, youtube apparently thinks that part 5 is somehow infringing on "Uwe Bothe Surviving New York City (Discey Remix)" despite not having any music in it at all... Should still be working, dispute filed.

Thanks once again! Very entertaining and educational indeed. I have learned a few tricks from watching your videos. Also I am impressed to see how accurate your observations are.

I am really looking forward for the continuation.

There's 2 factors here. First, the experience and attention to detail required to take an accurate measurement. The second is luck. Some of these ships have a completely incorrect mast height. If your measurement is perfect, the wrong mast height will foul up the trig formula and give you the wrong range anyways.

Edit: Unless duci fixed that since tmo 1.7. I really hope he didn't, as the subs often had incorrect data in real life as well.

Stupid question: What is the "Plotter mod"? Is that the circle with the degrees and stuff around the sub?

I did only jump into two of the videos (Pat2Part4 and Pat1Part1), but I guess I will watch some of them every now and then, no matter which sub - but S-boats do always roll with the most style!
