They are there, but there is only about 6 of them, you can find their locations by opening up the campaign file in the mis editor, however considering their size is not much bigger than an ocean liner, they are easy to miss.

Wait. There are only 6 icebergs? Why did they only create 6? I mean usually they wouldn't create them at all if this is how little they care about this feature. I mean isn't creating an iceberg as easy as creating a ship in the gameworld once you have all the physics and mapping and all that done? I'm pretty sure there are more than 6 icebergs in the world too.
Weird. |

Well, open the editor and you can easilly add more iceburgs to the campaign - if you like, you can put some in the meditaranien orright outside your port.

The more "objects" you have in the ocean, the slower the game becomes. And as nice as icebergs are, it's probably a better idea to concentrate more computing power towards other ships... and not icebergs.

Also wouldn't it make sense if the objects were triggered into spawning when your u-boat enters a certain proximity to them?

But you have to remember that SH3 must keep track of every object in the game, even if you are NOT in proximity to them.

But then those objects just get and ID and a location. Hardly processor intensive. |

But it is processor intensive... Anyone notice how long it takes to load a mission? Do you ever wonder why?
On that same note, have you ever wondered why the Naval Academy missions load so fast? Well, just take a guess. ![]()
