4gb for 72 mods may not be enough, dependi g on he mods.

There could be a mod conflict as well. I had a issue similar. The game would run fine in training missions but when I loaded a career, it would crash.
I hate to say it because it is a major pain in the butt, but you may have to start from scratch and re-enable mods one(or a few at a time) to either narrow down what your computer can handle or find the offending mod. Good luck.
