They've had their share of fake anti-virus shenanigans too. You know, when you are arrogant enough to claim you are immune from malware, justice will come your way. The fact was that the number of Mac users was so insignificant there was no money to be made with the malware. Apparently someone is now fed up with their arrogance or there are enough Macs to make it worthwhile. There is NOTHING superior about Apple in regards to malware, and the long bumpy ride is just beginning. Fasten your seatbelts.
He he, that immunity wasn't going to last forever.

iMacs, iBooks, iPods, iPads, iPhones, iWhatevers, i........

Their stuff may be good, but I don't want to have to join a cult.

I love the macs. They are simply wonderful to work with. As far as games and windows versus mac ... I do not see a lot of people making a living play a past time game so give me the machine that makes the money any day. Windows for the masses is great if you do wish to play a game since it was designed for entertainment not production.

If you do wish production and a still remain with windows you can use products like Windows 8 server, SQL Server 2012, MS Dynamics CRM, and there are plenty of SDK developer tools. None of these would most likely run a game with any efficiency since they are created with stability in mind and games are notorious for causing instability in systems due to game calls directly to hardware. Business software is designed so that doesn't happen creating a more stable environment.

Windows isn't all about games but you will fine the consumer versions are largely game and entertainment driven since they are created with entertaining the masses in mind.

If you have an Iphone look for this game ... I am not sure how far along it is yet

Wow, I know lots of people with Macs and none of them are arrogant, including the OP I hope
That is the most fascinating disconnect about the whole deal. It is the companies who are arrogant, brutish, dictatorial, damning the public, robber barons without a conscience, bullies whose aim is to control, not serve humanity.

Apple and Sony are they same type of company: arrogant, rapacious, overcharging, anti-competition, them against the public, take no prisoners companies who do not hesitate to break the bounds of right and wrong to advance their control and limit their competition. How about that Sony gangsterism to corner the market on HD DVDs? You get to pay double what one should cost to finance their assassination of a better alternative. So you have both obscenely high prices and low quality forever. Jay Gould never pulled such a naked act of aggression and thuggery.

Both play the patent game to kill off anything with any resemblance to their products. Apple's "look and feel" campaign and Sony's music CD trojan horse, which permanently turned off your computer's ability to write a CD without your knowledge or consent are perfect examples of these company's lack of moral compass and out of control power lust.

Then you have their customers: normally left-leaning, peace and love, socially conscious, upwardly mobile, people who like to think of themselves as progressive, in favor of human rights, believing that the greatest good is accomplished through voluntary cooperation for the betterment of humanity. These are genuinely nice people who would help you out in an instant, even for no personal gain. But in their quest to be cool they make deals with Satan, these two companies which make a mockery of how they try to live and how these customers view their purpose in life.

It's insanity. It's not people who cannot see, these are the most highly educated, most enlightened people in our society. These are people who WILL not see because what are principles of justice when compared to being "cool." Hell, toss those silly principles right out the window. Come right over, Satan, let's party!

jldjs and joea,

I'm sorry if my post offended. It certainly wasn't meant as an attack on anyone here. I consider people who post here and play SH 4, must be both intelligent and dedicated. I'm not a fan of Apple. Every time I see one of their commercials, they seem to imply that I am some kind of ignorant barbarian, living in the dark ages, because I don't have an Apple computer, iPhone, etc., etc., so I was happy to have a laugh at their expense. Of course I laugh at (or curse) Microsoft as well.

People here like to post what is on their minds or crack a joke. It shouldn't be taken seriously.

And I echo Torpx's comments. It isn't my intention to offend owners of Apple and Sony products. THEY are not any of those things that the companies they buy from are. Clearly, it is apparent that my string of adjectives belongs to the companies and not their customers, isn't it? If that is not apparent I apologize to anyone who chose to wear those nasty descriptions as their own. They don't belong to you. Give them back, please.

Now I have made a decision that not one penny of mine will purchase even one of either Apple's or Sony's products. The reason for this is that people will do whatever you pay them to do. In their minds, buying their products is an endorsement of their amoral cutthroat way of business, and in fact, a request that they do MORE of it. Without income they are powerless to do any of it. Surely you can see where my line of thought is headed.

We, by purchasing from crooks, tell them to steal. Our stamp of approval is on ever nasty deed they do. Include me out please. I choose not to participate.

My wife's $199.99 LePan TC 970 android tablet does 90% of what an $850+ Apple iPad does and does not support totalitarianism. I also have $650 in my pocket that otherwise would not be there. I'm not deprived in any way by standing for principle. Similarly, there is an equal or better alternative to every single product that Sony makes and no suffering is necessary to freeze them out of my life.

I own a mac but in a "GENERALIZED" view, this is quite sad but true. I have to agree, however even though macs are seen as the "hip" thing according to the direction and way the company markets its PCs, I do have to say the way the OS works is quite good, its complex if you want it to be but simple if you make it, its weird but I love it. On the flip side, the gaming part sucks, I do very much enjoy being able to play Silent Hunter, and Skyrim and Battlefield on my PC as well. So Im divided on the subject,

Well whatever floats your boat guys. I don't see any of these companies as more "evil" than the others-we all know about Microsoft and UBI, I don't get why people can't see why Google, Samsung, Dell and others are doing very objectionable things as well from a consumer and moral standpoint. I am slightly (but only slightly ) offended at the inference I made my choices based on "being cool" and did not see something actually useful in the products I use that you don't like. I am not upset-you guys seemed to be more pissed about it.

There are some things Apple does for example in its iDevices that I have not found in any other product (smart playlists for music playback and managment, some killer games like Infinity Blade or the upcoming Wolves of the Atlantic - see here ) But if you feel more moral or "fashionably unhip" go ahead.

My point was just being however that yes the operating system and the design (The way the body is made and how the track pad feels is superb, plus the way it charges and the built in camera and mic are all pluses) are great things to make this a computer I believe is at least worth the money I paid for it, however the sad part is, many people get them to be in the conformity group of being a hipster because thats the angle Apple uses to market them. I also own an iPod Touch and agree with you about iDevices, I think they're great machines at what they do. I also agree about what you said in pretty much the rest of your post, all of these companies are working angles for serious personal gain, I don't take it to heart too much unless I seriously despise what they're doing, and for the most part I don't, because I know at the end, Ill probably still end up buying their product.
