the glitches are still happening. Sometimes the game runs like normal, sometimes my crew wont talk to me. By far the worst part is that they wont tell me when they spot ships, making the game unplayable. But I noticed it happens for other things as well. Usually when I change course the navigator yells out "New course: 67 degrees" or whatever, but sometimes when I play he wont.
So its not a problem with spotting the ships, it is with crew communications. I can talk to them by clicking on them and they will respond, but they will not talk to me when they are supposed to, like when they spot a ship or change course/speed, etc... I cannot hear them yell, nor will it show up in my log. I really need help because this makes the game completely unplayable ![]() For mods, I have NewUIs by TheDarkWraith and Real Navigation, which was included in the NewUIs download. The glitch occurred before I downloaded these mods, so I do not think they are the problem. Thank you for your help. |

Hello Bowcaster okay lets start with time compression
1.Do you have the Travel mode turned off: If its on then the Sub will continue moving In the time compression set 2.Is your time compression below 1024: In 1024 compression on travel mode the crew will not likely yell out unless the time compression is 512 below. I tried that once and by the time I got time compression to 1, 2 destroyers were on me ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Un enable NewUIs by TheDarkWraith then go to the options file which is
NewUIs_TDC_6_9_0_ByTheDarkWraith\data\Scripts\Menu \TheDarkWraithUserOptions look for this heading ############# Message Box (SH3/4/5 modes) ############## change this to True TC1OnAnyMessageBoxText = True You can un enable this such as travelling at a port by the button up the top right of the hud . I would normally use it . Next find your SH5 save game folder which is usually in my documents , Go to SH5\data\cfg\main copy and paste these to your time compression settings . TimeStop=0 RealTime=1 LandProximity=1,32 CriticalDamage=1,32 CrewEfficiency=256 AirEnemyDetected=1,32 SoundEffects=2 CharacterAnim=32 FriendDetected=1,32 EnemyDetected=1,32 RadioReport=1,32 Particles=32 PrayState=1,32 HunterState=1,32 3DRender=32 Maximum=256,32 Travel mode is not for travelling . It is for when your game drops to 1tc because of a warning such as too close to land etc . |

'Travel mode' is, quite the contrary - used for travel, however it is only intended for travel in safe waters. Travel mode relaxes your spotting settings so you can make your way past multiple (friendly) contacts quickly & easily and should be used within 100km of port or so, no further. Beyond that it reduces enemy spotting times so much it becomes dangerous. Re your original problem, can only suggest a reinstall of game & mods; there's no reason why your watch crew should be failing to spot ships. Regarding ones where you visually can't see the hull at 5000 yards, move closer. SH5 simulates the variance in wave & ship heights, not always correctly, but there's nothing you can do about it. Another thing to bear in mind is that when starting a new campaign, you should save in bunker on load & then reload that save before proceeding, otherwise the sea layers don't load correctly. Sounds like this or a bad mod install are responsible for your problem - I can't see how checking or altering your upgrades (no offence sober) is going to make any difference whatsoever. EDIT: And yes, like Admiral says, make sure you're patched to 1.20 before modding. |

I uninstalled the entire game. Re-installed, glitch still there. Tried playing with none of the mods active, glitch still there. I can't figure out how to fix this.
It should be at version 1.2 because I have it on Steam, which should handle the updates for me. The glitch could have to do with something weird that happens whenever I launch the game. As Steam users know, the first time you play a game, it performs the first time setup and installs the game. Well SH5 does the first time setup every time I play the game, which is really weird. After the setup, it goes to the Ubisoft launchpad thing, where I can press play to start the game. The first time setup says "Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP1 Setup" every time I launch the game. |
