The reality is Scotland get more revenue from Westminster than what they pay in so Alex needs to be honest with his fellow countrymen and tell them what sacrifices may need to be made.

What made me laugh was the fact he said Scotland with be alright from the money from North Sea Oil.

Dose he know that is going to dry up in less than 10 years now?

It peaked way back in the 70's.

I was looking at a link you posted on the credit ratings thread and it would appear Scotland derive 85% of their revenue from Westminster

Hey jim, I hear oil company's are to probe the North Sea for what they say is there are large untapped pockets. Well excuse me I have been hearing this sort of thing for a few years now and every area probed turned out to be a wast of time.

So we must assume old Alex is banking on three straight cherry's across to pay for setting up a new country.

IIRC 95% of UK oil reserves are in what would be Scottish waters
