I suggest sober's mod list. He has it in his signature, really convenient. I use it with few additions. It's the best most stable combination. No CTD whatsoever. When I tried to compile my own mod list I had CTD's regularly, a real nightmare.

Thank you all for very helpful advice!
As of yet, i must say, that the experiences from SH3 and GWX still have a high standing compared to SH5.
But I have started to install mods, and it's getting better by the minute. Looking forward to a weekend of hunting in the frigid waters of the north atlantic

I have to add, that this resurfacing interest for Silent hunter led me to visit our "local" u-boat pen "Dora" here in Trondheim. The bunker is still intact, although somewhat modernized. The pens by the waterline are still historically correct though, and it brings an eerie reminder of conflicts past... Just to observe the massive dimensions made me understand why these bunkers were impervious to allied bombing during the war...
