I'm wondering why the Chinese boats have all that bunting on display?

Some kind of message perhaps?

At first, I didn't see the guns on there, but after looking at the close-ups, I see them now. The whole thing just struck me as funny, because they don't look like a military ship.

Hey, what are the guns they are holding? I thought they used AKs? Those are some mean looking troops though.

The Rifle is a Type 95 AKA QBZ-95. Its their new standard assault rifle.

Not sure about the scatter gun, might be a QBS-09 18.4mm gun. But I don't know much about shot guns to be sure. Could also be an LMG without a clip, I don't know.

Well the 95 in QBZ-95 stands for '1995' so around that time.

Maybe there's a chopper base nearby that they don't show. So the bad guys see this display, adjust their tactics and ambush a patrol boat. The aptrol boat sends an SOS and within minutes gunships swarm over the bandits
