Aus has phased out the Leopard Is for M1A2s and they're looking to get some TUSKs too IIRC. They use diesel instead of kerosene, but that's the beauty of the Abrams, you can throw just about anything in its engine and it'll still whisper its way into battle.
They still use the venerable Shoebox too, it's amazing how they're still slugging on after all these years. Shows what a good design it is, good, cheap, robust and rugged.

Like with the Leopard, which is said to even run with salad oil, if only you have sufficient supply of that. Just that the Abams's turbine is much more thirsty than a Diesel-engine. The Russians, after the T-80, gave up again on turbine-run tanks.

Porca miseria - I messed it up this time.

The news of the day is not that the M1A1 is playable - it has been that all the years. And the video shows not the M1A2 now playable - unfortunately. They just replaced the old 3D interior for the A1 with a newer one. The A2 seems to stay AI-only.

I question that priority. I would have invested the working time for a new Abrams cockpit into the A2.

Sorry for having confused it.
