@Jim

Hells bells mate! Is that yours or by the chap from the link below? If it is yours any chance you could pm me some details. Where you brought it, size, cost etc. I used to be heavily into modelling large scale, mostly armour but some A/C, also built a 4 feet+ Yamato kit once Since I recently gave up smoking I've been seriously thinking about picking the hobby up again. Thanks in advance Jim

Best regards.

Of course it's mine

On a more serious note...I once built a 7' British S Class for r/c sailing but that was about 25 years ago.

In the loft I have a 1/96 (8') HMS Illustrious hull with most of the fittings (Sirmar Models).

Thanks to everybody for your input! It is very helpful!!

There are quite a few VIIC's outthere but not so many in larger scale like 1:72. The best choice would be the VIIC by revell of germany. Just been re released last month. There is also quite some aftermarket stuff outthere to go with it.

The model i am asking questions for is revell of germany's VIIC in 1:144 scale. Still about 50 cm in length... And only about twenty euro's Easy to build up and an excellent way to get back into the hobby IMHO

From all the pictures I've seen of U-201, the decks were the standard scheme scene on other VII's.

I am interested in seeing how your model of Schnee's boat turns out... are you going to paint the snowman on it as well?
