Cain might bring some of the moderates back to the GOP.

He beat Stage 4 cancer of the liver and colon diagnosed back in 2006. There's an impressive victory in itself.

He's anti-abortion, anti-DADT, anti-gay rights, came out and said he would discriminate against Muslims based on their religion, wants to lower corporate and capital gains taxes, he's for school vouchers, against immigration reform, anti-union, wants to abolish the IRS....what exactly is moderate about him?

Herman Cain is speaking sense and will never be elected. I love his flat tax ideas, and he seems less a politician than the other lunatics.

The simpletons in this country will Vote in Rick Perry out of frustration for Obama, then he will shill for big corporate and Wall Street banks just like every administration since Reagan before.

I lost faith in my government after the Citizens United decision made corporation "people" able to use thier stockpiled profits (from layoffs and sending jobs to China and India) to influence government policy.

Look out Musolinni, your brand of Fascism (corporate oligarchical control) is bush league compared to what we got working. At least we fake democracy

@soopamam:

I agree, Cain speaks sense. I think he is electable but will have a hard time getting there. The problem with speaking sense is some people do not want to hear it. I do not believe his flat tax of 9-9-9 will pass but he realizes the tax code needs to be changed. I agree with Cain.

Good point Mookie. You would make him a radical?

He's got some radical hard-right ideas, but the majority of his positions sound like your standard right-wing fare. I definitely wouldn't call him a moderate, but I wouldn't go so far as to label him radical either.

Where would you place Obama?

I see Cain making this all very interesting. However, funding for Cain is nowhere near what the others command. This might be the only thing holding him back. Perhaps a stupid comment might be some undoing but historically all have said something stupid at some point.

Probably more conservative than you think. He's showered Wall Street and Detroit with bailout dollars, handed drug companies more monopoly powers as to drug patents and imports, handed millions of new customers to the insurance companies by federal mandate in a bill that the industry wrote, continued (and expanded!) the wars in the Middle East...

Blah. They all suck.

He's not one of the anointed "Two" so he's going to be frozen out, just like they've done to Ron Paul in 2008 and now.

Which is a damn shame. It would seem it is not what you know in politics but who you know.

Better check your definition of conservative again. No conservative I know was in favor of any of these.

Alot of Progressives on both sides of the political aisle, but no conservatives.

The conservatives were saying "let em fail", less regulation/more competition, and Obamacare? No we shouldn't!

Not saying there were no Republicans in favor, just no conservatives.
