Wow, it has been awhile since I was here. I knew life has been busy but not that busy!

Needless to say last time I was here, We were playing SH3 and yapping about SH4 coming in a few years!

On to the questions!
Been having a itch for Sub Sims as of late, obviously for half a decade or so, but have heard horrible things about bugs and issues in the SH series.
I know asking here is like asking a monkey if he likes banannas( it is a Sub site afterall! ) but in your opinions is SH 5 worth buying/playing with the bugs and issues? Do the mods correct alot of the issues like they have in past SH series? Lastly have people had any real issues playing it on windoes 7 64 bit?

I have not played either SH4 or 5 but outside of those 2 have played nearly every naval sim out there for the past 25 years. Thanks for your thoughts,

Olebass

Well, yes there are bugs and issues in the stock game, but with the hard work done by the modders here it's a totally different experience. You can pick up an on-disc copy from Amazon for about £5 so at that price I'd say it's worth a go!

Modlist in my sig if you want recommendations, looks like a lot but it's worth it. Plenty of people here to help if you get stuck in your installations too. I run it on Win 7 64 with no troubles.

Welcome back & good hunting

I still don't have SH5 for personal reasons, but the progress with modding is been amazing, and is progressing more every day. Even former antagonists are working together to make it the best SH ever. It's not there yet, but getting closer every day. I'd say yes, it's well worth it, especially considering the price.

IF you have Win 7 64 bit, at least 4 GB RAM and a decent vid card...SH5 is well worth it with all the great mods!

If, like me, your runing an antiquated system with WinXP/VISTA/or even Win7 32 bit, running SH5 and the mods is a challenge. For example I keep loosing port details (running TDWs UI mod and Open Horizons II) due to memory issues.

I find myself going back to SH3 with GWX 3.0 and STILL having a blast and marveling at the detail.
