I installed now in a way that all the activated mods are black. It messed my UI up, but at least something starts to work.
I would still appreciate to know why the other mods dont work. Is there a good "German Language Pack", maybe from Das Boot or else around? |

Have a look at this: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=163447
From your description, I'm not sure that you've copied the mods into the Ubisoft/Silent Hunter 5/Mods folder. They have to be extracted, then copied there, then activated via jsgme.

Thats what I did. I extracted them.
Now my whole HUD is ****ed up. I EVEN MOVED THE LANGUAGE PACK BY MYSELF INTO THE RIGHT FOLDER, AND IT IS STILL IN ENGLISH! I refuse to play a german submarine with german language. I will NEVER play this. I work now for about 16 hours on my mods. NOTHING WORKS. I am so fed up with those Ubisoft Bstrds, I am sick of that bunch of criminals. |

LOL chill out matey, it can be a struggle but it's probably something easily solved!
First things to check: Make sure every extracted mod you have in your C:/Ubisoft/silent hunter 5/MODS has the correct file structure. This means in each individual mod folder, the first folder you should see is 'data'. If the first folder you see is called something else, then you often need to go deeper into the file to find the mod itself (some mods have multiple options and enabling them all at once can cause issues). A proper mod file structure should look like this (example): C:/Ubisoft/Silent Hunter 5/MODS/Critical Hits v1.2/data An improper one would be (example): C:/Ubisoft/Silent Hunter 5/MODS/New UIs TDC 670TheDarkWraith/New UIs TDC670TheDarkWraith/MODS/various UI options* In the latter example, the individual UI options are in the second MODS file within the New UIs folder (listed *). You need to pick one, manually remove it from the main New UIs folder and add that to your main MODS folder to install with JSGME. Secondly, error responses and greyed out mods. Both of these are fine. The 'warning! may cause errors' etc message indicates that you're overriding some of the same file as an earlier mod with a later one. Say you use Critical Hits for Deck Guns and add it after Magnum Opus - MO alters the gun file first, then you add Critical Hits and it overwrites the changes made by MO, so you'd only see the effect of the second mod. This is also why some mods become greyed out - you've overwritten it with a later mod and you must uninstall the later mod before removing the earlier one. Installation order is often the biggest cause of problems, alongside accidental use of out of date versions etc. You can post your full complete install order either here or in the 'Post your mod list' thread and people will be able to tell you if your install order is right. You can also run TDW's JSGME Mod Vaildator to check your install - it should help identify any conflicts. http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=187245 Also ensure that you're running v1.20 of SH5 or most of the mods won't work. Stick with it and we'll soon have you sailing! ![]() |
