Not so much vehicular sims, but I did get a couple of people from Civilization IV/V to Paradox's CK/EU/Vicky/HoI series, from standard RTS to Combat Mission, and from Modern Warfare to ArmA. So it's totally plausible - you just gotta really know what the people like and make a good pitch for why more realism is not boring but much the opposite.
